NHA TRANG TO MUI NE – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1/ Is Mui Ne worth visiting?
Mui Ne is part of Binh Thuan Province, about 200 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. It's one of the most well-known beach destinations in Southern Vietnam — not as lively as Nha Trang, but that's precisely the appeal. It's quieter, more laid-back, and better suited for a longer stay where you actually want to slow down.
Most visitors make their way to the Red Sand Dunes, the White Sand Dunes, and Fairy Stream (Suoi Tien), grab fresh seafood at Mui Ne market in the morning, and watch the sunset from Mui Ne Beach or Hon Rom. If you're into kite surfing, this is hands-down the best spot in Vietnam for it.
Mui Ne has also recently been officially recognized as a National Tourism Area.
2/ How long does it take to drive from Nha Trang to Mui Ne?
The distance from central Nha Trang to Mui Ne is approximately 224 km. By private car via the North–South Expressway (Cam Lam – Vinh Hao section), the journey takes around 3 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 45 minutes, depending on your exact pickup and drop-off points. The expressway is new, light on heavy trucks, and your driver won't need to overtake constantly — it's a genuinely smooth ride.

NHA TRANG TO MUI NE – HOW THE JOURNEY WORKS
Nha Trang → Mui Ne
Your driver will arrive at the exact address you provide in Nha Trang — beachfront hotel, city center apartment, or straight from Cam Ranh Airport, whichever works for you. From there, the car takes the North–South Expressway, Cam Lam–Vinh Hao section, then turns toward Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. The expressway is new and well-maintained, cruising comfortably at 100–110 km/h — the full 224 km takes about 3 hours 30–45 minutes, with none of the lurching and overtaking you get on the old Highway 1A.
Along the way, the landscape shifts into something quite different from Nha Trang — the semi-arid terrain of Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, salt flats, small vineyards, goats grazing by the roadside, and the sea catching the light in the distance. It doesn't look like anywhere else in Vietnam.
On arrival in Mui Ne, your driver drops you at your hotel or resort, helps with luggage, and does a quick check of the vehicle to make sure nothing is left behind before saying goodbye.
Pickup
We pick up from anywhere in Nha Trang: hotels, apartments, Cam Ranh Airport (CXR), or the bus station. Your driver comes to you no need to walk to a pickup point.
During the Journey
The car follows the North–South Expressway — currently the quickest and smoothest route between Nha Trang and Mui Ne. The driver maintains a steady pace and will pull over whenever you need a break: a rest stop, a bottle of water, or a quick photo.
If you want to add a sightseeing stop along the way, just let us know in advance. A few places worth considering:
-
Po Klong Garai Cham Towers (Phan Rang): The best-preserved Cham tower complex in Vietnam, built in the late 13th–early 14th century on a hill overlooking the city.
-
Ca Na Salt Flats: Rows of white salt pans that catch the morning light beautifully — a short stop and completely different from anything in Nha Trang.
-
Vinh Hao Spring: A small, quiet stop along the highway — well-known across Vietnam for its natural mineral water.
-
Mui Ne – Binh Thuan: Red dunes, Fairy Stream, Mui Ne fishing village — a completely different coastal vibe from Nha Trang.
*If you'd like to include any of these stops, please mention it when booking so we can plan the timing properly. An additional surcharge applies as it extends the route and travel time.
Extended Services: Beyond the Nha Trang–Mui Ne route, we also offer transfers from Mui Ne to Cam Ranh Airport, Nha Trang, and Da Lat.
Rest stops worth taking on this journey:
-
Clean service station breaks: 10–15 minutes to stretch, use the restroom, grab a drink.
-
Lunch at a local restaurant: Your driver knows a couple of good spots — not tourist traps.
-
Coffee or cold drink stop: Keeps everyone alert and comfortable on a longer drive.
-
ATM stop if needed: Easy to arrange if you want cash before arriving in Mui Ne.
-
Door-to-door drop-off: Your driver knows the roads into Mui Ne's resorts — no chance of being left at the wrong gate.
