As the road continues northwest, the terrain begins to rise through the provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai, with the flat plains giving way to densely forested hills and, eventually, winding roads climbing up the Hoang Lien Son Range. The final stretch winds through terraced hillsides and pine forests before reaching Sapa, where the cool mountain air and views of the valley signal the end of a long but seamless journey.
