QUY NHON TO DA NANG Private Car Transfer
Quy Nhon to Da Nang by private car — 321 km via the North-South Expressway, about 3 hours and 55 minutes door to door. Far enough that the landscape changes noticeably along the way, short enough that most travelers arrive with the afternoon still ahead of them. Mui Ne Private Car runs this corridor regularly and picks up from any hotel or address in Quy Nhon city.
We run Sedans, SUVs, and Vans on this route — all with working air conditioning, clean interiors, and drivers who know the road. If you want to stop along the way for photos or a stretch, just say so at booking.
Mui Ne Private Car is a brand of Minh Khoi Tourism Co., Ltd. — over 8 years running private car transfers along the central Vietnam coast. Bookable through GetYourGuide, 12Go , Viator , and directly via WhatsApp.
The Route: Quy Nhon to Da Nang
1/ How far is it from Quy Nhon to Da Nang, and what does the drive look like?
The distance from Quy Nhon to Da Nang is approximately 321 km (around 199 miles), with a driving time of roughly 3 hours and 55 minutes under normal conditions. The route runs via the North-South Expressway (ĐCT Bắc–Nam Phía Đông) for the bulk of the journey, then transitions onto CT01 for the final approach into Da Nang. Four lanes most of the way, good surface, and the expressway keeps a close enough line to the coast that the sea appears in gaps between the hills throughout Quang Ngai and Quang Nam.
This is a proper expressway run — noticeably faster and smoother than the old National Highway 1A option. Fewer trucks, better road condition, and the toll gates are already factored into your quoted price.
2/ How much does the drive cost — and is it worth it over the train?
The train between Quy Nhon (Dieu Tri Station, 10 km from town) and Da Nang runs 4 to 5 hours and costs $8–$18 per person depending on class. A private car via the expressway takes around 3 hours 55 minutes and starts from $152 USD per vehicle — so for two or more people traveling together, the price difference per head shrinks fast, and you gain door-to-door pickup, no luggage hauling to a station, and a faster road.
For families or anyone with more than two bags, private car is the practical choice on this route.

What the Journey Looks Like
Your driver arrives at your Quy Nhon hotel at the agreed time — typically 10 minutes early. Bags go in, you get moving. The car joins the North-South Expressway (ĐCT Bắc–Nam Phía Đông) heading north out of Binh Dinh. The first stretch is fast and open — four lanes, good surface, the kind of road where 100 km passes without much effort. Binh Dinh gives way to Quang Ngai province, then Quang Nam. The expressway keeps close enough to the coast that the sea appears in the distance through gaps in the hills across Quang Ngai.
In the final section the route transitions onto CT01 for the approach into Da Nang. The city appears below as the road descends — the Han River, the bridges, My Khe Beach visible along the eastern edge. Your driver goes directly to your hotel or drop-off address from there.
Pickup in Quy Nhon
We pick up from anywhere in Quy Nhon city — hotel lobby, Ky Co area, Eo Gio, or Phu Cat Airport if you are coming off a flight. If you need pickup from two addresses (e.g., two hotels), let us know in advance. A small extra fee may apply depending on how far apart they are.
Stops Along the Way
This is a nearly 4-hour expressway run — most travelers do it straight through with one coffee stop. But if you want to build something into the day, these are the stops that make sense on this corridor:
-
Sa Huynh, Quang Ngai (~1h 30m from Quy Nhon): A small coastal town known for its salt fields and quiet beach. The expressway passes close enough that a brief detour is easy. Worth 20 minutes if you want to see one of the few remaining traditional salt-harvesting areas on the central coast.
-
My Khe Beach, Quang Ngai (~2h from Quy Nhon): Not to be confused with Da Nang's My Khe — this is a quieter version in Quang Ngai province. Long beach, almost no tourists. Good for a stretch stop if you are traveling with kids.
-
Chu Lai area, Quang Nam (~2h 30m from Quy Nhon): The expressway passes through Quang Nam province here. The coastline opens up, the terrain flattens, and you start to feel the transition from central highlands to the Da Nang basin.
-
Hoi An (Quang Nam) — ~30 min before Da Nang: If you want to visit Hoi An Ancient Town on the same trip, the expressway passes very close. We can drop off in Hoi An first and arrange an onward transfer to Da Nang later, or vice versa. Mention it at booking.
-
Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son), Da Nang: 10 km south of Da Nang city center, right off the CT01 approach. Buddhist caves and sanctuaries inside five limestone hills. If your hotel is on the south side of Da Nang, this is a natural first stop before checking in — takes about 90 minutes to do properly.
From Da Nang, if you need to continue — to Hoi An, Hue, or Ba Na Hills — we can arrange the onward transfer at the same time as your booking. See: Da Nang to Hoi An private car or Da Nang to Hue private car.

Da Nang: What to Know When You Arrive
When to make this trip
February to August is the dry season for Da Nang — the sea is clear, the beaches are open, and the expressway runs smoothly in good weather. September to January is typhoon and rain season for this stretch of coastline. The road stays driveable but Da Nang gets proper rain. If you are traveling in this window, departing in the morning before afternoon showers is always the better call.
Quy Nhon and Da Nang are in different micro-climate zones — Quy Nhon can be dry when Da Nang is wet, and vice versa. This route crosses that weather boundary, which is part of what makes the drive interesting.
Where to go once you are in Da Nang
-
My Khe Beach: The main city beach — 30 km of sand running along the eastern edge of the city. Clean, patrolled, and good for swimming most of the year. Most of the large beach hotels sit here.
-
Son Tra Peninsula (Linh Ung Pagoda): The large white Lady Buddha statue visible from much of the city coastline. The road up through the forest is worth doing for the view even if you skip the pagoda itself.
-
Marble Mountains (Ngu Hanh Son): Five limestone hills 10 km south of the city center, riddled with Buddhist sanctuaries and caves. Takes 2 hours to do properly. On the way to Hoi An if you are continuing south.
-
Han River Bridge and Dragon Bridge: The Dragon Bridge breathes fire on Saturday and Sunday nights at 9 PM. If your timing works out, it is genuinely worth seeing.
