The drive between them covers nearly 300 kilometers of changing landscape — from the flat fields of Long An, onto the expressway bridge at My Thuan, and then south through the narrower roads past Can Tho into Khmer country. It is a proper cross-delta journey, not a short hop.

Soc Trang has one of the largest Khmer populations in Vietnam.
